August 22nd, Saturday, at FilOil Flying V Arena, The UP Fighting Maroons kept their final four hopes alive with a victory over the much favored DLSU Green Archers, 83-78.
UP comes out to the top, toppling DLSU's prolific full-court pressure with a good passing and spacing which results to disarming the opponent's main strength. Green Archer's head coach Franz Pumaren must do something, and counters by putting 'hefty' defender Joshua Webb to defend UP's main gunner Mikee Reyes -- the former De La Salle High School Junior Blazers’ star did score a career-high 25 points, delivering over a tall order.

Kidding!The euphoria was written in every maroon's face, it feels like they won the championship, quite similar with UP's win against the ADMU on the first round of this season. UP now is trying to stand steady on a 3-7 record, still slugging it out even though with a slim chance of getting a slot at the final four, nevertheless UP FIGHT!
