Freddie Aguilar 70's song 'Anak' appreciated by Koreans

Everyone in the Philippines must have known this song way back three decades ago. Even our Korean neighbors sing their hearts out on this epic Filipino music.

It's just somehow surprising that they also appreciate Filipino music even though they don't know the language but still manages to like (we do that as well), on the top of that it's vintage out from a jukebox. Hats off, such a classical. It just shows that a good music doesn't have boundaries.

Tous Les Jous

Tous Les Jous, a trip to Korean baking. No doubt the presentation is five-star and yet it has more to offer on the inside.

Strawberry Inspiration Fresh Yogurt Cream Cake
A lovely cake isn't hard to buy, it cost a humble P598 for a well embellish and a mouth-watering dessert. Perfectly suit the table for the holiday season.

I'm a food critic, my judgment tells what's a good food and I must say the Strawberry Cream Cake is unique from all the cakes I've feasted.

Healthy Yogurt
It's rich in flavors -- layered with different tasteful ingredients it makes a bite one-of-a-kind experience. On the top of it isn't just an eye-soothing playful colors, it adds texture to the whole but the main thing is it has strawberry-cherry-like taste which compliments well with the yogurt cream of the next layer. Yes I've mentioned yogurt. I'm never a fan but I can attest that this cake changed my perspective.

On the following is a mild sugary cream line that make the flavors bind altogether. Getting all the flavors in your mouth, the bottom part is stuffed with real fresh strawberries which will make you say I enjoy strawberry which isn't in a beverage or in a puree. Every bite is an adventure, a fascinating dessert it is.

Using high quality ingredients

"Strawberries were freshly picked from Korea." as the description says. It's true, I bought it a day before the Noche Buena, amazingly it taste like it was just made when we ate it. The strawberry scent is lingering when having a slice. This cake is an amazing finish to holiday delicacies. But sure it's fun even on a simple after meal.

Definitely a thumbs up dessert. I'm looking forward to celebrate the New Year with a kind of cake again and on the next special occasions. Certainly delightful to have a great dessert, it makes a meal complete.

(This special cake made me blog again after a year)
Thank you Tous Les Jous.

The Season of Giving

Bought it at Pizza Hut last week. The waitress told me about it thus I never think twice for a charity. The Christmas card cost PHP40 only.

The proceeds from this card will be donated to the UN's World Food Programme to help feed children in conflict affected areas of Mindanao.

It's no better time to help our brothers and sisters who are in need. :)

Sampaloc's Original Bakeshop

It's 12:30 in the afternoon at this picture but people are storming the front. Might add, I notice that the street side is fully occupied with cars owned by the costumers of Tinapayan. Sounds like the 'Good Shepherd' of Baguio -- people surge regardless of time and where they come from. It just mean one thing, the breads in this bakeshop are worthy to any reason because it's awesome.

Everything about bread is here. They have cassava bread, the classic likes of pandesal, monay, mamon, empanada, ensaymada, different kinds of flavored roll, asado bread which taste better than a siopao. Hence I must say that their brownies are the best seller. Perfect dessert or snack. The taste doesn't have overpowering chocolate flavor but it has something in it that will force you to take a bite all over again. So much that it's the favorite, I wasn't able to take a picture.

Not just the bread but service here is excellent. They will never let you bark like in a wet market where people are shouting just to get attention. They're accommodating, you can call them by their names because they have an ID. Hairnet is hygienic. And they're all nice except when doing the math. :)

Here's the address:
1650 Dapitan corner Don Quijote, Sampaloc Manila.

They also have a branch at
Fiesta Market Market Global City, Taguig City.

Hope

Hope is always available to us. When we feel defeated, we only need to take a deep breath and say "YES," and hope will reappear.

The Shark Story

It was told to me by a good friend on a tiring night. Sounds like a bed time story but it's more than that, it soothes my soul and I think I can sleep well in a while.

The story goes like; there's a experiment about a shark on a large aquarium, they placed a fresh meat on the other side but it's hindered by a glass - transparent, so that the shark can see the meat. The shark was provoked by the meat but it can't be reached because of a barrier. The shark banged the wall but can do nothing. The experiment went until the 6th month where the glass that impede the shark from getting the meat was removed. The reaction from the shark was still the same, uninterested, seemingly resigned from pursuing the meat even though it wasn't mission impossible anymore.

That somehow correlates the attitude of human. We tend to surrender over hardships, yes we are mere capable of losing hope due to strain of time and difficulty of trial -- but like the shark story, the time that the shark lost hope, time arrived when the situation is possible for what was hoped for however it was completely neglected because hope is in absence.

I don't know how I am going to call a story like that but it's indeed inspiring. Patience may take a lot of nerves but as long as the focus is present along side with hope, even if there's a barrier, time will come that the wall that make our lives difficult will someday be removed. And when that moment dawn before you, hopefully you haven't submitted yet the hope that will make you move thorough and achieve what's opted.

Faith

Believing is anchored along with life. Hoping for tomorrow that it will go the way it was wished is an everyday thing for anyone. Difference in every expectation but same mere faith to hold on to, it may differ with what kind of food but it all boils down to taste, taste that has been craved for.

Believing can arrive with logical reason and fly high with blind belief but that's not the point it's all about devoting one's faith until the day it finally happen.

There is one thing that I've wished for a long time. I already put hope and actions altogether though it seem far. I think it's the perfect opportunity to defy faith. Believing that the very day will dawn regardless of situation and time. I suppose that's the very nature of faith.
